Trip to the North
Glimpse of documented memories.
Digital + analogue.
Places + people.
There are polar bears walking around, so having a dog is a must.
This is Serëga. He was my neighbour. During his shifts he was playing a snake on his old Nokia.
Lots of people moved away from the city in 90s for a better life, so part of the city got abandoned.
This is Lësha. He is the best dinghy driver, saved us from what I thought was my last boat ride.
Ships deliver fuel to the islands on their way to the North Pole, but it’s too expensive to bring empty barrels back.
This is Zhenya. He was the a senior mate. He would leave a surprise chocolates to cheer me up.
And this is Max, a funniest Swedish guy I’ve ever met. He was researching influence of the climate change on a polar bear population.
These are plastic trees made by the citizens. Since it’s too far North — nothing higher than grass grows there.
